Islamia consolationis (Bernasconi, 1985)

Known distribution: Cirque de Consolation and Falaises de Maurepos, in the springs along the Dessoubre river, south of Laval-le-Prieuré, Doubs, E. France.
Basionym: Hauffenia minuta consolationis.
A specimen from the type-locality, at the foot of Maurepos cliffs. Altitude ≈ 500m. Size: 2,45mm.
Like for many other members of the genus, the description of the shell does not provide many clues: « …surface of protoconch very finely malleated; spire rather raised, consisting of 2,75-3,5 rather rapidly growing, convex whorls; last whorl large, dilated, descending slightly near aperture; umbilicus small; aperture prosocline, roundish; peristome complete, thin, slightly thickened, slightly reflected only at columellar margin… » – Bodon, Manganelli & Giusti: “A survey of the european valvatiform Hydrobiid genera, with special reference to Hauffneria Pollonera, 1898 (gastropoda: Hydrobiidae)”, Malacologia vol. 43(1-2), Harvard 2001, p. 205-207.
