Henrigirardia wienini (Girardi, 2001)

The genus, for the time being, is stygobiont and monospecific.
Named after Michel Wienin who is the co-inventor of this species.

H. wienini is only known from two spots. The first one is on Aniane territory, in the Hérault valley; the second one is the locus typicus, close to Aniane: the Fontanilles cave-river, on the territory of Puéchabon. The above specimen was collected in this cave, in the hall immediately downstream the first siphon, at about 100m from the nearest entrance. Altitude ≈ 90m. Size circa 1,5mm.
The last whorl and the aperture are distinctly thrown outside. The peristome is thick and often open out. Same spot. Size circa 1,5mm.
The positioning of the aperture is very variable: the pitching can be so strong that the aperture swings 90° upwards. Same spot; sizes circa 1,2-1,3mm.
