Offshore, in ripple-marks, sand-gravel bottom, 0 to 50cm deep.
 
Psammobiidae: 48mm Gari depressa (Pennant, 1777).
This Sunset Shell is moderately common on coast of N. Brittany.
Two specimens found on coarse sand beds, 1-2ft below tide line, 300m off Bon Secours Beach.
Due to impact of Scallop dredging, many species decrease in quantity as in density;
subtidal areas remain correct shelters for bivalves like this one.
