Portugal to Sénégal, Mediterranean. The species occurs also in some spots in southern Brittany, where, however, it remains rare. Subtidal to sublittoral.
5-10m deep, Málaga, Andalucia, S. Spain. 21mm.
Above and below: beachstormed at low tide, Cabo Pino, Marbella, Málaga. 25-27mm.
The shape is quite variable.
Synonyms: cuneata, oblonga, transversa.
Easier to find in Alborán Sea than elsewhere.
20-30m deep, on sand, Málaga. 10mm.
10m deep, Omiš, south of Split, Dalmatia, S. Croatia. 13mm.
