Hemilepton nitidum (Turton, 1822)
Norway to Mediterranean and Black Sea. Commensal with some burrowing mud shrimps: Upogebia deltaura (Leach, 1816) and Upogebia stellata (Montagu, 1808), which nest inside soft sediments from the low intertidal down to the continental shelf. Jeffreys (British conchology vol. II, p.199) gives the depth range of 10 to 90 fathoms around the British Isles.

Original taxon: Lepton nitidum. Synonyms: compressum, convexa… Above and below: 15m deep, Bozcaada island, Çanakkale province, W. Marmara, NW. Turkey. 1,8-2mm.
Beaks opistogyrate.
