Synonyms gibberula, subclavata, sandalina. 55m deep, in grit, Ognina area, Catania, E. Sicilia. 6-7mm.

Umbones in free valves from Ognina. Prodissoconch round, smooth; dissoconch oblong, adorned with numerous commarginal striae. The valve begins by following the previous development, being squared and oblong as the dissoconch, but with the sculpture of the adult. Later, the anterior part of the valve begins to grow considerably more than the posterior one. All the members of the genus follow such a development.
