« Close to the previous one [ triplicata Brocchi 1814, fossil], from which it can be called a bicarenated variant. However, it differs by its advantageous stature and for the two keels that constantly surround its whorls. I owe the figured copy to Mr. Donati. Other specimens show a more acute apex. »
If turbona is a synonym of vermicularis (Brocchi 1814, fossil), the range extends south to Angola.

Other synonym: triplicata Philippi, who writes: « Shell delicately striated transversely, whith flattened whorls, [each one adorned with] three distinct, blunted keels, the median one being the stronger, the lower one obsolete.
