. Turbonilla acutissima
Turbonilla acutissima Monterosato, 1884
Mediterranean, including the Sea of Marmara.
Ectoparasit in the circalittoral.

Protoconch of type A; whorls rather flat, adorned with opisthocline axial ribs separated by narrow interspaces, and rapidly vanishing at the periphery of the last whorl. A difference with acuta is given by the radial sculpture of the first teleoconch whorls, which are ribbed in acutissima and smooth in acuta; the interspaces are also thinner. – 45m deep, Cesenatico, Forlė-Cesena, Emilia Romagna, NE. Italy. 3,3mm.
80-150m, Málaga, Andalucia, S. Spain. 5,2mm.
The longitudinal sculpture appears, with all its characteristics except strength, from the very first whorls of the teleoconch.
3m deep, Stari Trogir Beach, west of Split, Dalmatia, S. Croatia. 4mm. Original picture provided by R. Stanić (HR).
