Tritia neritea (Linnaeus, 1758)
Galicia to Morocco, Mediterranean, Black Sea. Introduced in some places of Brittany (Plouézec, 2008; Bay of la Fresnaye, 2013) and W. France (Arcachon Basin, 1976), near shell-farming areas. Scavenger and detritus feeder in the intertidal and the shallow subtidal, on muddy sand, in estuaries and other sheltered places. The species is euryhaline and can stand also high temperatures. Original taxon: Buccinum neriteum.

2-3m deep, on sand, Katerini, Pieria district, Central Macedonia, N. Greece. 11-13mm.
Dark variant, found in a population living in a small lake in the east of the airport, Samos island, eastern Aegean. 10mm.
In this species, populations vary more than their members.
