Tricolia entomocheila Gofas, 1993
Alborán sea, W. Morocco.

Lives among photophilous algae from subtidal grounds down to 40m deep. Grazer. « Umbilical chink very narrow, bordered by a sharp, white keel. Aperture broad, rounded. Outer lip and growth lines showing a deep notch at some distance from the suture, and two shallow sinuosities, one equatorially and one anteriorly. » – S. Gofas: “Notes on some Ibero-Moroccan and Mediterranean Tricolia with description of new species”, Journal of Molluscan Studies (1993), 59, p.357. Nota bene the three subsutural undulations, the nearest from suture being rather deep, while all three are weak in deschampsi.

25m deep, Benzú, Ceuta. 1,6mm. Original pictures provided by S. Gofas on WoRMS (CC BY-NC-SA).
« Colour pattern of teleoconch whorls with usually pink (occasionally brown) lines, on a translucent background, and opaque white areas. Pink lines sharp and narrow, arranged more or less obliquely to cross the growth lines. A narrow white surface around the umbilicus, and sometimes series of small opaque white patches on the periphery of the body whorl. Irregular white areas extending over large surfaces on some specimens. » – S. Gofas: op. cit. p.357. Here, the pink lines are displayed more or less obliquely, and cross growth striae, while they follow them in deschampsi.

6m deep, Tarifa, Gibraltar Strait. 1,4mm.
