Spirolaxis clenchi Jaume & Borro, 1946
Caribbean, Mediterranean. The species lives in deep-sea coral or crinoid environments, on the continental shelf and margin.
Above and below: 500m deep, central Tyrrhenian deep-sea coral biocenosis, off Civitavecchia, Lazio, W. Italy. 2,2mm.
Unlike what happens in the sister species centrifuga Monterosato, the body whorls of clenchi are markedly joined, while they only stay close together in centrifuga.
Peripheral ribs strongly marked and crenulate.
