Western Mediterranean. Deposit feeder in the continental shelf and slope (100-500m). Original taxon: daronia monterosatoi. Synonym: excavatus Monterosato, nomen nudum and preoccupied by the excavatus of C. B. Adams. The shell is devoid of marked radial sculpture, except some prosocline growth-marks. It presents, at the outer edge of the subsutural ramp and near the base, two marked spiral threads that give it a somewhat carinate appearance. 150-200m deep, Capraia island, Archipelago Toscano, W.
