Original taxon: Rissoa bruguieri. – Above: young and adult specimens, collected in Posidonia meadow, Anse des Fossettes, at the root of the eastern peninsula, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Alpes-Maritimes, SE. France. 5,2-6mm.

8m deep, at base of a submarine bank of conglomerate, E. of Mochlos, NE. of Kolpos Mirabellou, E. Lasithi, N. Crete. 5,8mm.
« The color entirely white; the longitudinal ribs occupying the whole extent of the shell, from the summit of the spire to the base of the aperture, and the numerous transverse and protruding striations which render the surface of this species rough, distinguish it eminently from all its congeners. The base of the aperture is also a little canaliculate, which distances it from the real Rissoa and brings it closer to the Ceriths. » – B. C. Payraudeau: Catalogue descriptif et méthodique des Annelides et des Mollusques de l’île de Corse, Paris 1826, p.113. – 5m deep, Ta’l Imgharqa, Biskra, NW. Malta. 5,3mm.
