Rissoina bertholleti Issel, 1869
Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Levantine coast of E. Mediterranean.
Grazer and detritus feeder in the infralittoral.
 
« This shell, which was never described, consists of 7 to 8 poorly convex whorls, adorned with very thick, high and angular longitudinal ribs with striped interstices. The last whorl reaches about the 2/5 of the total height and is surrounded at its base by a protruding and deeply furrowed callosity. The aperture appears to be a little triangular, a little flared, a little protracted at the lower end, and almost angular at the top; its right margin is arched and provided with a grainy bead. » – A. Issel: Malacologia del Mar Rosso, Pisa 1869, p.209. – 5-10m deep, Haifa, NW. Israel. 5,5mm.

The spiral microsculpture is weaker than in Rissoina bruguieri, and appears only between the costae.
