Rissoa rodhensis (Verduin, 1985)
Malta and Eastern Mediterranean.
Grazer and detritus feeder in the upper infralittoral.

The shells are usually whitish or with only a hint of purple, usually concentrated in the apical area; specimens patterned with longitudinal bands of brown are very uncommon, and often young. The species is often devoid of any longitudinal sculpture, and bears a slightly larger apex than auriscalpium. But the main difference with the other tall Rissoas is the double suture, especially visible in rodhensis.

Adult specimen of the form “angustior”, collected at 3m deep, in grit, at the foot of the citadel, south of the harbour, Methóni, Messinia, Peloponnese, SW. Greece. 7,2mm.
Same spot, same variant: subadult specimen. 7,3mm.
