Raphitoma andrehoaraui
Pelorce & Horst, 2020
NW. Mediterranean to Adriatic.
Predator at least in the infralittoral.

The shell of this species differs from that of the close azuari by its multispiral protoconch (circa 3 whorls vs. 2 in azuari). It differs from the shell of the similar species antipolitana, which has also about 3 whorls of protoconch, by the microsculpture of the latter: in andrehoaraui, the radials of the protoconch become opisthocline abapically since the second whorl, while they become prosocline on the third whorl in antipolitana.

The species is named after André Hoarau, diver on the French Riviera, amateur and specialist of the local seashells.
