Pyrunculus ovatus (Jeffreys, 1871)
Greenland to southern Brasil, Caribbean, Azores to Mediterranean. Predator in the continental shelf, down to bathyal depths. Original taxon: Cylichna ovata.
Synonyms: obscura, obesiuscula
 
The shell differs from those of the other atlantic species by its more pyriform shape, the last whorl being markedly expanded at the periphery, which is located more posteriorly, and by a less sunken apex. Above: specimen dredged at 200m deep, 7 nmi west of Cavtat, S. Croatia. 4,6mm.
