Fischer in Folin & Périer, 1872
Cantabrian Sea to NW. Morocco, western Alborán. Grazer and detritus feeder, the species lives sheltered in sand under stones in the upper infralittoral, and is also member of the molluscan assemblages than are found in Posidonia patches.

« This species, which gave rise to the creation of a new genus, is remarkable for its very enlarged, almost globular form, and the considerable size of its last whorl. It should also be noted that the suture is accompanied by a rather wide margin, and that the peristome is thickened and especially very largely reflected on the base. – Off Gijón (Asturias), in 18fm deep. » – De Folin & Périer: Les fonds de la mer vol. II, Paris 1872 (writen 1875), p.50. Description of the species and of the genus (in footnote) by P. Fischer. – Same spot. 2,5mm.
