Philine iris Tringali, 2001
Alborán area: N. Morocco, S. Spain.

The anterior part of the aperture is more rounded than in catena, the shell is much smaller, with more rounded sides. « The contour of the internal lip is rather flexuous, both its columella and parietal parts being remarkably and evenly arched. The peristome is weakly serrate, and the notches are more evident on the upper edge of the peristome. The peristome is more or less protruding above the shell top on most shells. Joining the penultimate whorl, the peristome makes a narrow upper sinus. » – L. Tringali: “Marine malacological records (Gastropoda, Prosobranchia, Heterobranchia, Opisthobranchia and Pulmonata) from Torres de Alcalá, Mediterranean Morocco, with the description of a new philinid species”, Bollettino Malacologico vol.37(), Milano 2001, p.219. – Above and below: 15-25m deep, Málaga, Andalucia, S. Spain. 1,5mm.
