Orbitestella dariae
(Liuzzi & Zucchi Stolfa, 1979)
Mediterranean.
Detritus feeder in the infralittoral (the holotype comes from sediments collected at the beach of Savudrija, Umag, Istarska županija, N. Croatia) down to the continental shelf and deeper. Original taxon: Cyclostremiscus dariae.

Protoconch smooth, slightly sunken in the whorls, which are subquadrate, with a flat subsutural shelf and, at the periphery, a marked keel. The aperture is devoid of inner denticles, the columella is smooth, almost vertical. The umbilicus is wide and deep, as it is expected in the genus. The sculpture is mostly radial, especially on the top of the whorls, which bear a set of strong radial folds, regularly spaced and almost orthocline; on the base, the radials become weak pleats and are much more numerous. The spiral sculpture is made up of many micro ribs; some spiral cords are also visible on the outer part of the base.
