Sénégal to Angola, Cabo Verde to Galicia; Canarias, Madeira; Azores and lusitanian seamounts to Mediterranean. Predator in the low infralittoral down to the continental shelf and slope. Common in the circalittoral. Original taxon: Murex fusulus.
