Melarhaphe neritoides (Linnaeus, 1758)
Norway to Mauritania, Canarias, Azores to Mediterranean and Black Sea. Grazer on Lichens and Cyanobacteria, also detritus feeder; locally abundant on rocky supralittoral, in crevices and other sheltered places in areas exposed to spray. It is also possible to find these Periwinkles in the intertidal level.

The pale subsutural area is a constant feature.
