Mangelia paciniana (Calcara, 1839)
Mediterranean. Predator in the infralittoral.
Original taxon: Pleurotoma paciniana.
Synonyms: grisea, sandrii.
 
« No spiral sculpture » (but it seems that some striations may appear here and there). Other features: pattern of spiral lines or bands on pale background; aperture wide; radial costae slightly undulating, with wide interspaces.

Brusina’s Raphitoma sandrii: the « oblong-fusiform » shell is « thin and smooth, has 7 convex whorls, angular in their upper part, with ribs or rather acute longitudinal folds, which are almost continuous and oblique, from 8 to 9 in the last whorl, the interstices being wider than the folds. The canal is very short, striated and straight, the aperture ovate-elongated.
