Mediterranean to Angola, Canarias.
Predator in the infralittoral-circalittoral, on soft bottoms. Original taxon: Pleurotoma undatiruga.
Synonym: corrugata Kiener.
For a long time this species was confused with F. similis.

« Shell spindle-shaped, more or less pale yellowish with one or two red-brown bandings. Spire turreted like a staircase, consisting of 10 smooth whorls, somewhat angularly protruding above the middle and becoming noticeably narrower after, sculpted on top with obliquely thickened longitudinal folds and on the lower part with distant spirals. On the last whorl, the ribs either run underneath the banding or become simple wrinkles narrowing to the end of the canal; as well the transverse sculpture, becoming more and more obscure downwards. » – Weinkauff &  Kobelt: op. cit. p.43.
Dredged at 80m deep, on detritic bottom with Corallium rubrum, Gibraltar Strait, N. Morocco. 51mm.
