Eulima bilineata Alder, 1848
Norway & Kola peninsula (Nekhaev, 2011) to Mediterranean.
Ectoparasite of ophiuroids Ophiotrix fragilis (Abildgaard in O.F. Müller, 1789), Ophiactis balli (Thompson, 1840) and Ophiopholis aculeata (Linnaeus, 1767) – cf. Warén, 1983 – in the infralittoral (« low water mark at Jersey » in Jeffreys, 1867) down to the continental shelf and slope.

Above and below: 70m deep, Hvar channel, Split-Dalmatia Comitat, S. Croatia. 4,9mm. Original pictures provided by R. Stanić (HR) – (CC BY-NC-SA).
Often, adult shells bear this white inner layer inside the latest whorls, even in the freshest specimens like this one which shows, in addition, the most delicate microsculpture.

A similarly patterned Eulimid was recorded from Canarias, but its shell bears visibly convex teleoconch whorls, a distinctly angulated last whorl, a larger base, and the aperture is less narrow. Regarding d’Orbigny’s Eulima bifasciata from tropical western Atlantic, its shell is much more tapering.
According to Pero Ugarković’s observations, the animal is translucent white, with the eyes located on the roots of the cephalic tentacles, on top position and not on the sides.

80m deep, Hvar channel. 3,75mm.
On this specimen, the lip is uncommonly placed almost in the continuation of the last labial scar.
