Epitonium linctum
(de Boury & Monterosato, 1890)
W. Mediterranean to Cabo verde. Also in Bay of Biscay, according to Segers, 2009. Planktotrophic. Circalittoral to continental shelf and slope (400-440m off Isola Capraia, Cecalupo & Giusti, 1986). – Original taxon: Scalaria lincta. Synonyms: fallaciosum, frondicula… – Above: specimen collected off Bonifacio, S. Corsica 13,5mm.

Protoconch multispiral, a little brownish; teleoconch of circa 6 whorls, white, convex, separated from each other by a deep suture. Radial sculpture made up of circa 16 sharp lamellae, each having a spiny projection below the suture, more pronounced in the last whorl. – Close to hispidulum Monterosato but with less lamellae and with a taller protoconch (Bouchet & Warén, 1986).
