Chauvetia giunchiorum Micali, 1999
Central Mediterranean, Adriatic. Scavenger and predator in the low infralittoral and the circalittoral, often in coralligen.

« Chauvetia giunchiorum differs from living congeners for the following characters: 1- interspaces between the coastae without relief sculpture; 2- milky white colour with brown lines; 3- large and prominent tubercles. Due to its slightly squat general shape, it can be compared to C. mamillata from which it is easily distinguished by the aforementioned details. The specimens from Portopalo (SR) have from 10 to 13 axial ribs, more or less developed. » – P. Micali : “Note sulle specie di Chauvetia dell’Atlantico nord-orientale”, Bollettino Malacologico vol.34(5-8), Milano 1999, p.65.
