Cerithiopsis minima (Brusina, 1865)
Azores to Cabo Verde, lusitanian seamounts to Mediterranean. Predator on sponges in the circalittoral. Also in infralittoral in Azores (Cordeiro & al.). Original taxon: Cerithium minimum.
 
« Shell ovoid; apex conical; whorls 10, barely convex: the first 4 smooth, the following bearing 3 rows of granulose decurrent cords; suture rather marked; last whorl round, with the base adorned of decurrent cords; aperture quadrangular; colour brown, the first whorls white. » – A. Locard: Les coquilles marines des côtes de France, Paris 1892.

Shape slightly pupoid. The protoconch has even less sculpture than in C. tubercularis, in which some tiny radial folds appear just below the suture. Similar to C. nana but with white apical area. – 85m deep, Saronic Gulf, SE. Greece. 2,5mm.
