Ancistrobasis reticulata (Philippi, 1844)
Brasil to Florida; W. Scotland to Canarias, Mediterranean. Deposit feeder in bathyal depths.
Original taxon: Solarium reticulatum.
 
A synonym is hettematica Locard, who writes: « This species […] is distinguished from its congeners by its last whorl, much more angulated at the base and almost flat underneath, by its shell that is like checkered above and ringed below. This ornamental arrangement is most indicative. » – A. Locard: “Mollusques testacés” tome 2, in Expéditions scientifiques du Travailleur et du Talisman pendant les années 1880, 1881, 1882, 1883 vol.
