Infralittoral to lower photic zone, often epibiontic of rhizomes in Posidonia oceanica meadows (Albano & Sabelli, 2012). Grazer and detritus feeder.
 
7 to 9 axial ribs on the body. 4 to 5 spiral cords on the last whorl, linear and not wavy as in A. claudioi. The species is « more or less deep orange in colour, depending on the part of the shell » (Buzzurro & Landini, 2007). Often, the apical part is more deeply tinged.

The shell is very close to pale forms of A. elisae but differs in some features, such as the lower number of axials, a smoother base, and the constant lack of buttons at the intersections radials / spirals. – Above: 33m deep, Secche di Tor Paterno (type-locality), off Torvajanica, Roma, Lazio. 2,5-3,5mm.
Protoconch adorned with spiral arrangements of small buttons. Transition with the teleoconch smooth, given by the progressive appearance and growth of two spiral cords. Above, a large subadult collected at 40m deep, Scoglio Fino, Marciana Marina, Isola d’Elba, Toscana, W. Italy. 3,95mm.
